Happy birthday Lyman! Thanks for the wonderful work you do on the Quadra Blu webcomic, and I hope you are having a great day!

Thanks Jeb'. It's an honor to have you do something like this! I've always loved your rendering of form, and the fact you played up Quadra always working legs. I love the "pound cake" device too.

I'm always thrilled when you do a rendering of my lady. I had a pretty good b'day, but there's a glitch somewhere in the Wordpress site which keeps me from putting up the next episode: which I worked on on my b'day. Thanks again for the Quadra cake-extention piece!

Tech question: do you (photoshop) color under or over your pencils?

Did I answer your Tech question? I forget. Anyway, usually I color underneath the pencil lines with lines set to multiply and tinted some color other than gtay. Then I paint over the top of that to correct any details or bits where the color/pencil mix does not look right.

Thanks Jeb. I've been offline for a few days. Yeah, when I've tried to color pencil linework I seem to get little grey pixels here n' there, but there's a lot I don't know about photoshop. With the black brushline in Quadra I push that w' levels then posterize it down to #2 to eliminate any stray pixels.

I really like the look of your pencil lines and the vibrant colors you use. I'm also looking for ways to speed-up the cartoon-making prrocess w' out losing quality in the artwork. Using pencil as finished art instead of inking over it might be a plus.

A new Quadra will be going up in a little while. I'm doing a pretty big job for American Movie Channel that's been taking up most of my time. But it should pay well, which as you might know; online cartooning does not.
