Pen and ink illustration for Moon Design Publications' Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes.

The Plateau of Suffering
The heroes have taken on aspects of the gods, and are readying for the final fight with the demons in the deepest pit of the Underworld. They look mean and keen, after all they have been all the way through hell to get here!

A throng of demons blocks their way forward, as a septet of evil gods prepare a grisly sacrifice!

I just love it. It's epic. So much dynamism in so little space.
One of my favourites is the scholar on the left with the flying runes and scrolls.

What did you use for inking?
How did you do the patterns on the smoke and on the shadows of the scorpions?
