Pencil and marker (with some whiteout- those Bic whiteout pens are pretty nice, if a bit blobby in line) drawing made Aug 12th 2009.

Commission for :iconsoviet-superwoman: of his City of Heroes character Soviet Superwoman.

She is seen here crushing the German forces on the Eastern Front in 1943. These poor machine gunners don't stand much of a chance, but they have demonstrated that SS needs a more bulletproof costume.

(I think this is the first time I have drawn German WWII soldiers and weaponry- any experts out there let me know how I'm doing.)

looks not bad, but try a conical flashhider. and germans didn't use MachineGuns with a butterfly'd firing mech as section level assets. Pistol grips all the way

Great job. She looks powerful and threatening, and not everyone has a bulletproof costume. Look at Adam Warren's "Empowered" comic book. The heroine's powers are linked directly to the state of her costume. :D

You see, that's what the Soviets get.

They purge a bunch of intellectuals and stifle scientific development with their bereaucratic ministries.

Therefore, they don't have the brilliant maverick scientist who would've come up with the miracle material that would give Soviet Superwoman a costume that would adapt to her level of invunerability.

I like your traditional work a lot. Computer aided is cool to, but traditional shows off your classic skill and carries your style even further. You have an extremely high versatility, I haven't gotten a chance to say this till now, but your inked comic works really made my jaw drop. Your uber leet man, I'm authentically regretful I missed the comicon that Sunday all those years ago :tears:

Yep, I'm still with Chop Shop. Haven't been out to cons lately. Life has been kicking my ass these last few years, G-freind and her ex, family drama, student loans and all. Being an adult sux :tears: But I'm putting together an art book about demons and angels :excited: never published that big before. Gonna' try and do table top gaming stuff to. But I'm working at Medicare for now.

Tangent: I need to commission you for a Dyna picture some day, you are perfect for it.

Nice concept and great art as usual. I just have my difficulty with the motiv. Communists are hardly heroes or superheoes. You could just as well draw a Nazi-superwoman.
The Helmet of the right guy (with the eye.mask?) is a bit flat, and I don't know what the shield on the other helmet is supposed to represent.
I Like your work - I just hate communists.

Thanks- and I accept your reservations.

The character as described is a Russian patriot who single-handedly rolls back the German forces on the Eastern Front, and conquers Europe during WWII.

The right soldier's helmet is a bit too small to contain much cranium, yeah. The shield on the other helmet is based off a yellow and black shield I saw painted on a German helmet when I was hunting for reference pictures- I don't know what it stands for either.

I particularly like how you put the shading in the lower right German soldier's face and set up his eyes and teeth to give him the allusion to a death's head... his probable fate.

Oh, and the Superwoman don't look too bad either. ;)
